Thomas Zeichman has tried cases, closed complex transactions, and served as an advisor for individuals and companies. The foundation of Thomas' practice is the representation of debtors, creditors, fiduciaries, and purchasers in the various aspects of bankruptcy and insolvency situations.
Bankruptcy/Restructuring/Workouts: Thomas has experience representing purchasers and sellers of distressed assets through bankruptcy, receiverships, and assignments for the benefit of creditors. Additionally, Thomas has represented creditors and bankruptcy trustees pursing assets of debtors. This experience is valuable when Thomas advises debtors on how to defend against creditor attacks. When in the best interest of clients, Thomas advises, negotiates, and resolves disputes outside of a Court proceeding.
Litigation: Thomas advises clients on business law matters and complex commercial disputes. He has secured multiple seven-figure results for clients and represents businesses in a wide range of matters, including business disputes, employment issues, bankruptcy litigation, and trademark disputes. Thomas has also tried cases at both federal and state courts, including jury trials.
Transactions: Thomas has led transactions in the healthcare, real estate, and other industries. This experience includes court-approved distressed transactions involving pharmaceutical manufacturers, behavioral health facilities, dental practices, real estate assets, among other opportunities.
Local Counsel: When out of state law firms require local presence in Court, Thomas has served as local counsel for firms from across the country, including California, Illinois, Texas, and New York. These firms rely onThomas represent their clients, including large REITs, family offices, private equity funds, and others.
Mr. Zeichman received his law degree summa cum laude from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law and was a member of the Nova Law Review. During law school, Mr. Zeichman served as a research assistant which led to published articles in the areas of bankruptcy law, secured transactions and the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), and contract law.
